There are two kinds of services offered by the Express Employment Professionals Businesses: Flexible Staffing – Temporary/Contract Staffing (“Flexible Staffing”), and Career Placement – Professional Search (“Career Placement”). Your Express Employment Professionals Business must offer Flexible Staffing services. The term “Associates” refer to the persons you send to the client business from the Flexible Staffing portion of the Express Employment Professionals Business. You will have the option, with our approval, to operate the Career Placement portion of the Express Employment Professionals Business. You must operate the Express Employment Professionals Business in strict compliance with the system, procedures, methods, policies and requirements prescribed in the Manual (as defined below). We will make available to you one copy of the Manual.

Characteristics of Ideal Franchisee:
Individuals looking to be in business for themselves, but not by themselves. We are seeking natural leaders focused on customer service and growth by leveraging a sales-oriented mindset. Our owners have commonly led and managed teams and possess a driven spirit and unmatched motivation. They are natural relationship builders and strong communicators. Viewing business ownership as the next step in their career, we are looking for individuals looking to control their own destiny through business ownership. Industry experience is NOT necessary. Over 95% of our existing owners have zero industry experience. While our owners have diverse backgrounds, they all share a common focus of taking care of their customers, following the Express System all while maintaining a positive attitude with the perfect amount of grit. Typically, candidates will need to be prepared to invest a minimum of $140,000 for the startup of the business and be able to cover personal living expenses for one year.
Express offers franchisees two ownership models. The Traditional Model requires an investment ranging from $140,000 to $174,000 and an active role in new business development by the franchise owner. The Professional Market Model requires an investment ranging from $209,000 to $220,000 and applies to pre-designated territories with a high propensity for professional staffing. In this model, owners attend customized training and will manage a recruiting staff of two, unlike a traditional office with one person in this role. In both models, our franchisees enjoy the opportunity to own a business, while having a life outside of the office with time to enjoy friends and family.
Successful Express franchisees come from diverse backgrounds, including senior business management, sales, finance, communications, marketing, manufacturing, IT, banking, education, and human resources.

Typical day of a franchisee:
Express Employment owners work closely with business owners in their community to identify hiring opportunities. By leveraging the extensive training and support provided by Express, our franchise owners and their team support their clients by recruiting talented applicants to fill the open positions. The Express office is typically open from 8 to 5 to mirror the common hours of our clients. Each morning an owner will meet with their staff and strategize their daily sales plan based on their current applicant pool and open job orders with clients. As the owner and face of the business, the franchisee will spend the remainder of the day connecting with business clients in their community to determine hiring opportunities. By connecting with decision makers at local businesses, the owner controls the growth trajectory of their own business without having to worry about the back-office support which is handled by Express International Headquarters. At the end of the day, the owner regroups the team for a quick afternoon recap and ensures they are prepared for the following day.
